We selected 206 participants from VCS.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the study was to evaluate factors associated with sedentary lifestyle and dietary patterns related to high energy density diets, obesity and weight gain in adults of the Valencian Community (VC).<\/p>\n<p>We collected information about the following variables:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dietary Survey Module:\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #575353\"><a style=\"color: #575353\" href=\"http:\/\/epinut.umh.es\/cfa-84-obesigen\/\"><b>Food Frequency Questionnaire of 84 items.<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Health and Lifestyles Module:\n<ul>\n<li>Self-report health status and personal pathological background (chronic diseases).<\/li>\n<li>Dental health<\/li>\n<li>Physical activity<\/li>\n<li>Consumption of tobacco<\/li>\n<li>Physical perception<\/li>\n<li>Brief reproductive history (only women)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Socio-demographic<\/li>\n<li>Anthropometry Module:\n<ul>\n<li>Weight<\/li>\n<li>Height<\/li>\n<li>Blood pressure and cardiac frequency<\/li>\n<li>Brachial circumference<\/li>\n<li>Abdomen\/hip circumference<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Publications related to this study<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Vioque J, Weinbrenner T, Castell\u00f3 A, Asensio L, Garcia de la Hera M. <strong>Intake of fruits and vegetables in relation to 10-year weight gain among Spanish adults.\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"color: #008080\"><a style=\"color: #008080\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/18239583\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Obesity. 2008; 16:664-70.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>This study was part of a project titled: Environmental and genetic factors associated with obesity and weight gain in the adult population of the Valencian Community, whose principal investigator was Jes\u00fas Vioque.<\/p>\n<p>Financing: FIS 00\/0985, with a duration of 2 years (2000-2002).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080\"><a style=\"color: #008080\" href=\"http:\/\/epinut.umh.es\/en\/epinut\/estudios-y-colaboraciones\/\">&lt;&lt;Back<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DESCRIPTION OF THE STUDY b:hover { color: #008080; } This is the 10-year follow-up study of the Valencian Community Nutrition and Health Survey (VCS) conducted in 1994.
