{"id":385,"date":"2011-07-15T12:11:45","date_gmt":"2011-07-15T12:11:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bibliodieta.umh.es\/%c2%bfquien-la-desarrolla\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T09:11:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T09:11:19","slug":"epinut","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/epinut.umh.es\/en\/epinut\/","title":{"rendered":"EPINUT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section admin_label=&#8221;section&#8221;]<br \/>\n\t\t\t[et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;row&#8221;]<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t[et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: lefth\"><a href=\"http:\/\/epinut.umh.es\/en\/miembros\/\"><strong>RESEARCHERS<\/strong><\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/epinut.umh.es\/en\/epinut\/publicaciones\/\"><strong>PUBLICATIONS<\/strong><\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/epinut.umh.es\/en\/epinut\/estudios-y-colaboraciones\/\"><strong>RESEARCH PROJECTS AND STUDY COLLABORATION<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>The<\/strong><strong> Nutritional Epidemiology Group (EPINUT) <\/strong> dis led by Professor Jes\u00fas Vioque, an expert on Nutritional Epidemiology trained at Harvard University, and has a multidisciplinary research portfolio with a research staff from different areas of knowledge: Medicine, Statistics; Nutrition; Psychology; Pharmacy; Nursing, etc.<\/p>\n<p>We conduct different lines of research with a common aim: the improvement of knowledge on the relationships between diet and different processes or diseases; mostly chronic degenerative diseases (obesity, cancer, age-related macular degeneration), and also on the effect of certain environmental pollutants on human health.<\/p>\n<p>To this end the EPINUT group has developed a platform and specific software to assess diet in different populations.<\/p>\n<p>There are 4 main lines of research and their applications include:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>1)<strong> Research on nutritional determinants of health. <\/strong>Projects: EUREYE Study on Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) in a European setting funded by the European Commission Framework V Quality of Life Programme. The Spanish centre received additional funding from &#8220;Fondo de Investigacion Sanitaria\u201d (national grant FIS:01-1692). The PANESOES Study aims to analyse the effect of diet on several types of cancer, funded by the &#8220;Fondo de Investigacion Sanitaria\u201d (national grant FIS) and by the Generalitat Valenciana.<\/li>\n<li>2) <strong> Research on environmental and genetic factors related to obesity.<\/strong> The main objective is to explore the prevalence of obesity and overweight and the determinant factors. (Projects: FIS 00\/0985; FIS 07\/0314). Publications: Int J Obesity; Med-Clin; Obesity; Lancet.<\/li>\n<li>3) <strong> Research on the effect of environmental pollutants on human health. Infancia y Medio Ambiente Project (INMA Study-CIBERESP)<\/strong>. INMA Project is a multicentre and a multipurpose project to assess the effect of environmental pollutants and diet on pregnant women and their children.
